In a cold winter month of 2008, our small group of photographers from all over the country grabbed our snowboards to ride the mountains of Mammoth, California. During that week filled with exploration, spontaneity, and storied tales, a bond of mammoth-sized ideas and dreams was forged. We made a commitment to adventure again and adventure often. What started as a one time getaway has turned into inspiring journeys across the country, including trips along the california coast, the deserts of the southwest, the heavenly powder of utah, the dirty south, and the warm surf of hawaii. Over the years our little wolfpack has traveled by car, by plane, and by tour bus. We've made a million memories together, and photographed a million more…welcome to our online home where we are pleased to share some of them with you.

WHO ARE THE MAMMOTH MEN AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING???
In the early wintery months of 2008, eight of us, who are celebrated, award-winning and downright awesome photographers from all over the country grabbed our snowboards to ride the mountains of Mammoth, California . This marked the beginning of what is now known as...wait for it...The Mammoth Men. What ensued during that getaway was a week filled with adventure, spontaneity, hijinks and storied tales. A bond was forged amongst us men and a commitment made to doing it again, and doing it often!
During 2008, we, the Mammoth Men hit the road again for two more trips. Only on these trips, we loaded up in a Prevost rock tour bus. On the first trip, we headed up the California Coast for five days of ruckus and shared it on our traffic happy blog. With the success of the first trip notched on our belts, we then ventured into the American Southwest documenting an epic amount of glorious insanity. The blog following continued even after these two trips had ended and garnered much media attention in the blogosphere and in magazine publications. At the start of 2009, in the fourth installment of the Mammoth Men, we bundled up and headed to the greatest snow on earth - Park City, Utah. The Mayhem unfolded as we shacked up in a ginormous cabin and made some of our favorite memories snowmobiling, snowboarding, sledding, indoor skydiving, and even managed got a jeep stuck in the Great Salt Lake! The Utah trip also marked The Mammoth Men’s first contest to raise money for two of our favorite charities! Together with the blog and Twitter followers, we were able to raise over $3000 for charity! On Mammoth Men 5, we once again hopped in the tour bus and headed to the mecca of Southern Hospitality - The Dirty South! On our most recent installment, Mammoth Men 6, we hopped over the Pacific and settled into an amazing property on the north shore of Oahu for five days of cliff jumping, surfing, jumbo slip-and-slides into the ocean, sneaking onto movie sets, and copious amounts of local food.
For the 7th round of Mammoth Men-ing we’re flipping the script! This time instead of renting a house or cruising in a luxury bus, we’re getting back to the basics for a good old fashioned road trip tour through the great state of California in search of adventure. We’ll be loading up in cars and heading off the beaten path in search of epic hikes, secret water holes, back roads, and mountaintops, while enjoying nights of campsites and campfires. Since we’ll be spending many a night in the wilderness this time around, we’ll be sharing our adventures in real time through our collective instagram and twitter feeds which will all be showcased on our Mammoth Men Tumblr page. Upon arriving home we’ll have a scheduled rollout of all of the images we created along the trip with our real, big-boy, professional gear along with a full length film from our amazing video team.

One year, nine months, and twenty one days in the making and the MAMMOTH MEN are finally on the road again! We're heading back to where the MAMMOTH MEN were conceived and are embarking on a road trip through the wild spaces of California. The canyons, mountains, lakes and rivers are calling, and we've answered, just in our own way - with 12 men stuffed into three SUVs.
This time we're doing things a little differently! We're bringing an entourage of prehistoric, vintage and archaic film photographers with us, so we will no longer be blogging as we go! All joking aside, our adventures will be hitting the world live, and in real time, via MAMMOTHMEN.TUMBLR.COM - which will be pooling all of our individual Instagram feeds.

We are changing it up a little on this trip and adding a few new things for you guys and gals! (our readers)
1st: we will be posting a Mammoth Men "ASK-O-TRON" video every day! In these videos Chad + Drew from shade tree films will be video interviewing a few of us daily, answering your questions at random locations throughout our travels! Got a question for the Mammoth Men? All you have to do is shoot an email over to videoquestions@mammothmen.com and we will randomly select 3-4 questions to answer per video per day.
**Please note this is not meant to be a workshop... so while we don't mind answering camera and photography related questions, have some fun with them! For example, some question's that have already been submitted are looking forward to answering: "are you a member of the "Mile High club?" -or- "who is the best cuddler?" -or- "If you were an ice cream flavor, which one would you be and why?"**

2nd: EVERY DAY you get to choose a Mammoth Men challenge we can do amongst our daily adventures! Each night we will be posting a "CHALLENGE-O-TRON" poll where you get to vote which crazy activity/contest/challenge we must complete the following day!

So far some examples we have come up with include: pillow fight, tug 'o' war, wall sit, Shake Weight endurance competition, guess who's belly button, monkey bar hang-off, fastest Slurpee drinker, chubby bunny, palm tree scramble, who can get get the most high fives from strangers in the city, ice blocking, etc… So bring on your ideas! The funnier, harder, and crazier the better!
**The first day of challenges will be a travel day so think of some fun things to do in an airport… that won't get us arrested :) **
