WHO ARE THE MAMMOTH MEN AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING???
In the early wintery months of 2008, eight of us, who are celebrated, award-winning and downright awesome photographers from all over the country grabbed our snowboards to ride the mountains of Mammoth, California . This marked the beginning of what is now known as...wait for it...The Mammoth Men. What ensued during that getaway was a week filled with adventure, spontaneity, hijinks and storied tales. A bond was forged amongst us men and a commitment made to doing it again, and doing it often!
During 2008, we, the Mammoth Men hit the road again for two more trips. Only on these trips, we loaded up in a Prevost rock tour bus. On the first trip, we headed up the California Coast for five days of ruckus and shared it on our traffic happy blog. With the success of the first trip notched on our belts, we then ventured into the American Southwest documenting an epic amount of glorious insanity. The blog following continued even after these two trips had ended and garnered much media attention in the blogosphere and in magazine publications. At the start of 2009, in the fourth installment of the Mammoth Men, we bundled up and headed to the greatest snow on earth - Park City, Utah. The Mayhem unfolded as we shacked up in a ginormous cabin and made some of our favorite memories snowmobiling, snowboarding, sledding, indoor skydiving, and even managed got a jeep stuck in the Great Salt Lake! The Utah trip also marked The Mammoth Men’s first contest to raise money for two of our favorite charities! Together with the blog and Twitter followers, we were able to raise over $3000 for charity! On Mammoth Men 5, we once again hopped in the tour bus and headed to the mecca of Southern Hospitality - The Dirty South! On our most recent installment, Mammoth Men 6, we hopped over the Pacific and settled into an amazing property on the north shore of Oahu for five days of cliff jumping, surfing, jumbo slip-and-slides into the ocean, sneaking onto movie sets, and copious amounts of local food.
For the 7th round of Mammoth Men-ing we’re flipping the script! This time instead of renting a house or cruising in a luxury bus, we’re getting back to the basics for a good old fashioned road trip tour through the great state of California in search of adventure. We’ll be loading up in cars and heading off the beaten path in search of epic hikes, secret water holes, back roads, and mountaintops, while enjoying nights of campsites and campfires. Since we’ll be spending many a night in the wilderness this time around, we’ll be sharing our adventures in real time through our collective instagram and twitter feeds which will all be showcased on our Mammoth Men Tumblr page. Upon arriving home we’ll have a scheduled rollout of all of the images we created along the trip with our real, big-boy, professional gear along with a full length film from our amazing video team.
